MIDDLEBOROUGH — Girl Scouts earn Conservation Commission praise for Nemasket River stewardship work. Troop 64979 expanded water quality monitoring to six sites, testing for dissolved oxygen, pH, bacteria, nitrates, and phosphorous, and restored turtle nesting habitat that an officer with the Massachusetts Division of Fisheries and Wildlife estimated boosted the turtle population by one-third. The commission also closed a six-month hearing and issued an Order of Resource Area Delineation for 253-259 Wood Street, accepted a deed for Rose Ridge Open Space, issued two Certificates of Compliance, and accepted the resignation of member John Neely.
