Middleborough Conservation Commission votes to order independent peer review of contested Cedar Street wetland delineation before allowing a proposed single-family home to proceed. The board unanimously approved soliciting at least three peer review quotes for the Roy Keene property on 0 Cedar Street, citing accuracy concerns raised in a 2022 peer review. Chair Nancy Ockers noted the prior reviewer found hydric soils and evidence of hydrology outside the flagged wetland boundaries at four separate areas.
The hearing was continued to September 3. The board also approved a Memorandum of Understanding with the Tourism Committee for Oliver Estate parking lot use and authorized Patricia J. Cassady, Conservation Agent, to sign a $19,914 contract with Public Archaeology Lab for monitoring during Stony Brook Pond Dam construction.
