Conservation Commission schedules solar project site visit

Conservation Commission · Meeting of April 2, 2026

Middleborough Conservation Commission schedules site visit for solar project facing neighborhood opposition. The commission continued the hearing for a 300-plus-acre ground-mounted solar installation straddling Middleborough and Carver, with residents expressing concerns about impacts to a recently constructed cranberry bog and adjacent wetlands located near the proposed western array. Cassady recommended investigating the property's prior earth-removal permit history. In other votes, the commission unanimously extended the five-year-old permit for 7 Winter Street for one year to April 8, 2027 and approved standard orders for projects at 304 Wood Street and 62 Marion Road.
