Council on Aging approves Herring Festival parking plan

Council on Aging Board of Directors · Meeting of March 11, 2026

MIDDLEBOROUGH — Council on Aging approves Herring Festival parking without dispatch. The board unanimously approved waiving police dispatch for the Herring Run Festival on April 12-13 after the Middleboro Tourism Committee committed to volunteer parking monitoring and chair availability. The eight-member board also voted unanimously to reschedule the 2026 Middleborough Candidates Forum from its original date to Thursday, March 26, at 7 p.m., hosted by The Nemasket Week and Middleboro/Lakeville Rotary with moderation by Rotarian Bob Saquet.

Executive Director Holly Begley reported a $45,000 vehicle request pending for the Council on Aging, though she acknowledged town budget pressures may require trimming the request for FY27.
