Middleborough Select Board votes 4-1 to approve Kearsarge battery storage PILOT agreement. The board approved a 20-year Payment in Lieu of Taxes deal with Kearsarge Energy for a 4.99-megawatt battery storage system on Jericho Road, with the town receiving $11,000 initially with a 2.5 percent annual escalator, totaling $280,991. Select Board Chair Teresa Farley opposed the measure; the other four members voted in favor.
The board also unanimously approved a contract with Luciano's Excavation Inc. for Stony Brook Pond Dam improvements, including raising the dam to state safety standards and protecting two municipal drinking water wells. The board approved one-day beer and wine licenses for ten events at the Alley Theatre through October.
