MIDDLEBOROUGH — Select Board accepts Town Manager resignation effective March 4. Brian P. Giovanoni moved to accept Jay McGrail's resignation with terms including completion of the FY27 budget, consulting services, and vacation time; the motion passed unanimously.
The board directed staff to compile a candidate list by February 2, 2026, including retired Police Chief Joe Perkins as a potential option for interim manager. Teresa Kelly Farley requested a formal timeline, selection criteria, and two to three finalist candidates before the board moves to an official search.
