Select Board approves $200,000 to $225,000 salary range for Town Manager search.
Select Board · Meeting of May 26, 2026
Middleborough Select Board sets salary range for Town Manager search at $200,000 to $225,000. The board unanimously approved the range for the Search Committee, which holds its first meeting June 4 at the MCCAM studio, and authorized Chair Teresa Kelly Farley to present the salary parameters before departing. Vice Chair Thomas White reviewed comparable salaries in Bridgewater ($200,000) and Wareham ($205,000) to justify the range against peer communities.
The board also unanimously rescinded planned layoffs of three patrol officers after Police Chief Robert Ferreira confirmed staffing reductions through attrition, with departing officers holding higher-paid Sergeant and Detective positions, allow the department to remain within its reduced $432,000 direct-cut budget. The board approved two one-day beer and wine liquor licenses for the Bartending School of New England at the Alley Theatre and unanimously approved withdrawal from the Public Health Excellence Grant Program for Shared Services, effective after a three-month notice period.
