Select Board approves election workers and liquor license for festival.

Select Board · Meeting of March 23, 2026

MIDDLEBOROUGH — Select Board approves 75 election workers and one-day liquor license for Herring Run Festival. Interim Town Manager Joe Perkins reported a municipal budget shortfall of $3,375,797, recommending hiring freezes, purchase controls, and overtime restrictions to address the deficit. The board unanimously approved both measures and committed to working with the Finance Committee and School Committee on budget adjustments.

Board Chair Mark Germain confirmed Town Meeting can be postponed until June 29, 2026, allowing time for budget review as the town works through state aid revisions and health insurance cost increases.
