Select Board approves interim town manager contract after amendment fails

MIDDLEBOROUGH — Select Board approves interim manager contract after Farley amendment fails. The Select Board backed the Interim Town Manager contract as signed by Joe Perkins on a 4-1 vote, rejecting Teresa Farley's proposed amendment to limit hiring and firing responsibilities. Chair Mark Germain, Bill Pike, Tom White, and Brian Giovanoni voted yes.
The board also approved a Wetland Resource Protection District permit for 504 and 508 Wareham Street (4-1, with Giovanoni dissenting) and approved permits for 400 Canopy Drive and 202 Summer Street. Additional actions included signing the April 4 election warrant and approving Soule Homestead capital improvements with Pierce Trustees contributing $25,000.
