Select Board terminates Planning Director contract, approves multiple licenses and warrants

MIDDLEBOROUGH — Select Board terminates Planning Director contract due to budget deficit. Middleborough voted unanimously to end Leeann Bradley's employment contract as Director of Planning and Community Development effective June 30, 2026, with Interim Town Manager Joe Perkins citing the town's financial constraints and recommending the buyout clause be purchased. The board also opened warrants for both the Special Town Meeting and Annual Town Meeting, closing May 4, 2026, with four articles anticipated for the special session and 28 currently drafted for the annual meeting.
Additionally, the board unanimously approved the Finance Director as the town's ARPA designee and approved transfer of an all-alcoholic package store license to Pokharel & Son Inc. for Downtown Liquors at 167 Center Street.
