MIDDLEBOROUGH — Tourism Committee approves Tavern Night as seasonal spring, summer, and fall event following widely praised debut. Chairperson Leilani Dalpe reported strong positive feedback and recurring interest, with the board approving potential improvements including disposable serviceware, a full-size refrigerator, and upgraded facilities. The Herring Run Festival, set for April 11 and 12 at Oliver Mill Park, confirmed 36 merchandise vendors and 12 food vendors, with the Wampanoag Nation Singers and Dancers headlining.
The committee secured three grants totaling $13,000 and unanimously approved three reimbursements to members for event supplies totaling $307.28. Dalpe will explore a Venmo business account to accept credit card and bank account payments for online merchandise sales.
