MIDDLEBOROUGH — Zoning board approves hobby kennel and two major Wareham Street projects on single night. The board voted 5-0 to grant John Steill a special permit for a nine-dog hobby kennel at 295 Cherry Street, with the condition that dog waste be privately removed rather than composted. Marcus Baptiste's Freetown Trade and Hobby Center received unanimous approval for a 25,883-square-foot commercial complex at 467 Wareham Street featuring a baseball training facility, four contractor-bay buildings, and office space.
Michael O'Shaughnessy secured a special permit and variance for LEX Development's 10-acre container-park at 480 Wareham Street, allowing 281 parking spaces and waiving standard landscaped median requirements between parking bays; all three commercial projects included multiple conditions on utilities, parking, and drainage. The Beals and Thomas solar facility hearing was continued to May 28 pending town counsel review and clarification of an Earth Removal Permit for a separate parcel.
