Zoning Board approves variance for LEX Development's Wareham Street project

Zoning Board of Appeals · Meeting of January 22, 2026

MIDDLEBOROUGH — Zoning Board votes 4-1 to approve variance for LEX Development commercial project at 480 Wareham Street. Attorney Michael O'Shaughnessy, on behalf of Timothy Hashem, won relief from side yard setbacks, buffer zone reductions, and landscape median waiver requirements. Dr.

Edward Braun opposed, citing no documented hardship to justify the variance; Chairman Darrin DeGrazia, Joseph Mandile, Sandy Abban, and Nancy Kefalis voted in favor. In a second matter, the board unanimously continued Debbie Conroy's special permit hearing for a commercial kennel at 24 River Street until March 12, 2026, pending revised plot plan and Animal Control Officer review.
