Zoning Board continues kennel hearing; solar project deferred on battery storage issue

Zoning Board of Appeals · Meeting of March 12, 2026

MIDDLEBOROUGH — Zoning Board of Appeals continued two major hearings and processed one ownership transfer. The board deferred the Beals and Thomas, Inc. solar facility hearing to March 26 after applicant Zachary Farkes agreed to relocate battery energy storage equipment out of Middleborough, citing inadequate original disclosure and potential need for public re-notification. The board continued the Debbie Conroy kennel license hearing to April 9, requiring her to meet compliance items including dog licensing, a waste plan, fire alarm installation, and fresh water provisions before approval can proceed; Chairman Darrin DeGrazia warned that non-compliance would bar the license and leave her unable to maintain the kennels.

The board unanimously approved transfer of Imperium Motors ownership from Kaya Aksu to Yusuf Ozer at 28 Wareham Street, with prior permit conditions remaining in effect.
