Zoning Board of Appeals · Meeting of January 8, 2026

MIDDLEBOROUGH — Zoning Board continues dual-town solar project hearing to March 12 for peer review. Rewild Renewables, on behalf of Beals and Thomas, Inc., seeks approval of an 8-megawatt ground-mounted solar facility straddling Middleborough and Carver, with approximately 80 percent of the 272-acre Middleborough footprint generating roughly $80,000 to $88,000 annually in personal property taxes plus rollback and real estate tax revenue. The project will interconnect to Eversource in Carver and export 100 percent of power to the regional grid.

Two abutting residents on Stone Street objected to visual impact; the board requested further screening and fencing refinements, a decommissioning bond payable to both towns, and coordination with Fuss & O'Neill for third-party review before final approval.
